My 2025 Mid-Year ReviewDear Reader, What I focused on in the first half of 2025Writing and Editing My BookAfter a big writing push from February to April, I was able to share the first complete draft of my book Real Progress - How to Connect Product Strategy, OKRs, and Discovery, with beta readers. Their thoughtful feedback helped me to streamline the book's concepts even further and identify gaps and inconsistencies, which in turn helped the core messages come across more clearly. A Broad Range of Client WorkWhether it was a talk at a company offsite, organizing a company-wide Product Training Day, or upskilling entire product organizations through training and coaching, 2025 was marked by fulfilling client engagements across various industries and challenges. Quality Time with Friends and FamilyI am lucky to have people around me whom I enjoy spending time with. With friends and family alike, I had the privilege of taking little trips across Europe, which helped me recharge mentally and physically between book and client work. Most of the recent "coffee shots" I shared over the past weeks stemmed from these experiences. In addition, here's a moment of full bliss from a trip to Düsseldorf with one of my best friends. What I will focus on in the second half of 2025Publishing my BookI'm working hard behind the scenes to prepare for the launch of my book in the fall. That means tackling layout and design questions, adding finishing touches to flows, and preparing complementary templates to help you put the concepts into practice. Talking about my BookTim Ferriss once said that a book is about two marathons: One is writing the book, the other is marketing it. You could say that I'm currently in the process of warming up for the second marathon. I have a few enjoyable public and in-house activities on the calendar to share the book's core ideas. If you're interested in hosting a book club with me or booking me for an event or podcast, please get in touch via this contact form. Hands-on Client WorkAside from ongoing client work, I look forward to a range of workshop, consulting, and speaking activities with new and existing clients. All focused on the intentional usage of Strategy, OKR, and Discovery methods in their context. I’m excited for what’s to come and sharing the journey with you. Did you enjoy the newsletter? Product Practice #402 Product Discovery forInternal Enabler Teams PUBLISHED Apr 2, 2026 READ ON HERBIG.CO Dear Reader, Because the customers of your product just sit three desks away, you might think you can just "talk to them." And that's precisely what often leads to the low adoption of better product practices among product teams working on internal products (also sometimes called Enabler Teams). And why, when a user has a company email address, it is likely nobody's doing discovery on...
Product Practice #401 How to Close Your Confidence Loop PUBLISHED Mar 26, 2026 READ ON HERBIG.CO Dear Reader, Most teams can tell you what they're building. Far fewer can tell you why it matters and how they will know it has worked. And I mean in a connected, defensible way that traces from their next release or discovery back to a company goal. That gap is where confidence lives (or doesn't). The confidence loop describes the critical questions you need to be able to answer and connect to...
